PARIS POPULAIRE AU CINEMA

 

A walk through the working-class districts of Paris portrayed in the most famous scenes of history of cinema. But also in famous paintings and novels from French and international literature.

 

- Pigalle & Montmartre: The famous district in the North of Paris, symbol of the Belle Époque, marked by great painters and artists like Renoir, Toulouse Lautrec or Picasso, with its cabarets like Le Moulin Rouge, has been portrayed in many international movies such as Midnight in Paris, Ratatouille, An American in Paris, French Cancan, Moulin Rouge or Amélie Poulain.

- Canal Saint-Martin (Hôtel du Nord)

- La Goutte d’Or & the district of Batignolles, where several novels of the French writer Emile Zola take place (L’Assomoir, Gervaise)

- Barbès Rochechouart: portrayed in many film noir classics and comedies like Les Ripoux: Tati, Le Louxor movie theater
